For Immediate Release

Date: March 17, 2020

In light of Mayor Mulcahy declaring a State of Emergency in the Village of Sag Harbor and as we continue to monitor the coronavirus pandemic and attempt to limit its spread, the Sag Harbor Village Police Dept will be taking the following precautions. We will continue to operate 24/7, but I am asking those who do not have true emergencies or that may be able to wait for a response call our dispatch center at 631-725-0058.  The dispatcher will take your name and phone number and ask you the nature of your call.  One of the on duty police officers will return your call in a timely manner and assess the situation.    This is only for non-emergency situations.  If you have a true emergency and require the police, ambulance or fire dept., call 911.  We are going to suspend all non-essential functions, i.e. impound releases, report requests and non-criminal fingerprinting until further notice.  This is not how I like us to serve our community, however, in an attempt to limit person to person contact, I feel this is the safest way to police at this time.  If there are any questions, I can be reached at 631-725-0247 during normal business hours or at  Thank you to everyone for your understanding.

                                                                                                            Austin J. McGuire
