Coronavirus Disease 2019
The Village of Sag Harbor is closely monitoring COVID – 19. The CDC and Governor Cuomo have confirmed that there are multiple cases of person-to-person transmission in the state. While the risk remains low, the Village is preparing for additional transmissions in our community and/or local communities. Our residents, our volunteers and our employees’ health and well-being are paramount and the Village’s top priority.
At this time, there are no plans to limit public meetings or close any Village office or job sites. This would be an extreme measure that could be disruptive to day-to-day life, and any decision to implement will be at the direction of public health experts.
Just as we have asked Village employees and volunteers, we are asking the public to practice general flu prevention measures including washing hands regularly and coughing or sneezing into a tissue or sleeve. But most importantly if you are feeling sick please stay home.
All of our emergency services and first responders are well trained to answer calls in the event of an emergency and to follow the protocol in an effort to keep themselves safe and the equipment safe.
If you or someone you know feels sick, please contact your personal physician, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or Stony Brook Southampton Hospital:
CDC – 800-232-4636
Stony Brook Southampton Hospital – 631-726-8200
In an emergency, please call 9-1-1
Please watch the Village web site and Facebook page or listen to WLNG to check for any updates to any meeting schedules or building closures.
